Implementasi Metode Sam’iyah Syafahiyah dalam Meningkatkan Keaktifan Belajar Bahasa Arab di Madrasah Ibtida’iyah

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Sam'iyah Syafahiyah method in enhancing the active learning of the Arabic language. The Sam'iyah Syafahiyah method emphasizes listening (sam'iyah) and speaking (syafahiyah) skills as the main pillars of language learning; this method facilitates natural language acquisition through interaction and direct practice. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentary analysis. The subjects of the research are Arabic language students and teachers at MI Al-Hidayah Betak 02. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Sam'iyah Syafahiyah method involves several stages, including the introduction of vocabulary through audiovisuals, paired and group conversation practice, and simulations of everyday communicative situations. This method has been proven to significantly increase student learning engagement, as evidenced by the increased participation in class discussions, confidence in pronouncing Arabic vocabulary, and enthusiasm in attending every learning session. Students feel more confident and motivated to use the Arabic language in various contexts. The challenges encountered include time constraints and audio facilities, but these can be overcome with the teachers' creativity in utilizing available resources. This research recommends the consistent use of the Sam'iyah Syafahiyah method in Arabic language learning to create a conducive and enjoyable learning environment
