This license allows others to share, copy, redistribute, remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the same license is applied to derivative works. 1. MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

1.1. General Requirements

Manuscripts must be written in standard academic English, using Garamond 12-point font and 1.5 line spacing throughout. Margins should follow the journal template (approximately 1 inch or 2.54 cm on each side). The preferred file format is Microsoft Word (.docx), and the total length should range between 5,000 and 7,000 words, including references. All citations and references must adhere to the APA 7th Edition style.

1.2. Manuscript Structure

Every manuscript must follow this standard structure:

  1. Title and Author Information

  2. Abstract and Keywords

  3. Introduction

  4. Literature Review (optional)

  5. Methods

  6. Results

  7. Discussion

  8. Conclusion

  9. References

Each section must be clearly organized and logically presented to reflect academic rigor and coherence.

2. DETAILED COMPONENT SPECIFICATIONS

2.1. Title and Author Information

The title should be clear, concise, and informative, written in Garamond 16 pt bold and centered. Author names should appear below the title (Garamond 12 pt, centered), followed by their full institutional affiliations (institution name, city, and country). The corresponding author’s email address must be included, and providing an ORCID ID for all authors is strongly recommended. Any submission history or acceptance date tables must be removed before submission.

2.2. Abstract and Keywords

The abstract must be a single paragraph of 150–200 words, written without citations or abbreviations. It should summarize the research purpose, methodology, key findings, and main implications. Following the abstract, include 4–6 keywords separated by commas, written in title case.

2.3. Main Text Organization

Introduction
The introduction should establish the research context and importance, identify the existing research gap based on recent literature (ideally within the last five years), and present the research questions or objectives. It should move logically from general background to specific focus without subheadings.

Literature Review (optional)
This section may include theoretical perspectives, relevant empirical studies (preferably from 2019–2025), and conceptual frameworks if applicable. Authors are encouraged to organize this section thematically or chronologically, demonstrating a critical synthesis of the literature.

Methods
Authors should describe the research design, participants or sampling procedures, instruments used, validation processes, data collection techniques, and analytical methods. Ethical considerations such as IRB approval and informed consent must be clearly stated.

Results
Present findings clearly and objectively, using subheadings for structure where necessary. Tables and figures should be referenced appropriately, and both significant and non-significant results should be reported to ensure transparency.

Discussion
Interpret findings within the theoretical framework and compare them to existing research. Discuss implications for theory and practice, address limitations, and suggest areas for future research.

Conclusion
The conclusion must summarize the study’s key findings and contributions, reinforce their academic and practical relevance, and provide clear recommendations for further studies or applications.

3. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

3.1. Heading Levels

Headings must follow a consistent hierarchical format as shown below:

Level 1: Centered, Bold, Title Case (Garamond 14 pt)
Level 2: Left-Aligned, Bold, Title Case (Garamond 12 pt)
Level 3: Left-Aligned, Bold Italic, Title Case (Garamond 12 pt)

3.2. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals.

  • Table captions must appear above the table, while figure captions should appear below the figure.

  • Both must be left-aligned and written in Garamond 9 pt.

  • Tables should contain only horizontal lines, and all visuals must be embedded within the text rather than submitted separately.

  • Figures must be high-resolution (PNG, JPEG, or GIF format).

3.3. Equations

All mathematical equations should be created using MathType or the Word Equation Editor. Equations must be numbered consecutively and right-aligned, with spacing above and below each equation for clarity.

4. REFERENCES (APA 7th EDITION)

All references must strictly follow the APA 7th Edition style. The reference list should be arranged alphabetically by the first author’s surname, formatted using 1.5 line spacing and a hanging indent (0.5 inch). Titles of journals and books must appear in italics, while article titles use sentence case (only the first word, proper nouns, and the first word after a colon are capitalized).

Each article must contain at least 25 references, with 80% published between 2020 and 2025, and at least 70% from Scopus or Web of Science-indexed sources. Authors are encouraged to use citation managers such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to ensure accuracy and consistency.

A journal article with DOI should be cited as follows:
Lastname, A. A., & Lastname, B. B. (2023). Title of the article in sentence case. Journal Title in Title Case and Italics, 12(3), 145–162. https://doi.org/10.xxxx/xxxxx

A book reference should appear as:
Lastname, A. A. (2021). Book title in italic sentence case. Publisher.

A chapter in an edited book should appear as:
Lastname, A. A., & Lastname, B. B. (2020). Title of chapter in sentence case. In E. E. Editor & F. F. Editor (Eds.), Book title in italic sentence case (pp. 25–44). Publisher.

In-text citations must follow the author–date system: (Lastname, 2023) for one author, (Lastname & Lastname, 2024) for two authors, and (Lastname et al., 2025) for three or more. For direct quotations, page numbers should be included (e.g., Lastname, 2022, p. 15).

The reference list must reflect current, credible, and verifiable sources. Predatory, non-peer-reviewed, or unverifiable publications are strictly prohibited. Authors are responsible for ensuring that every in-text citation has a corresponding entry in the reference list and vice versa.

5. ETHICAL REQUIREMENTS

5.1. Originality and Attribution

Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. A similarity index of no more than 15% is acceptable. All sources must be cited appropriately, and any use of AI-assisted tools should be transparently disclosed. Data authenticity must be verifiable upon request.

5.2. Ethical Declarations

Authors must include details of ethical approval (e.g., IRB number and date), informed consent procedures, funding sources, conflict of interest statements, and data availability information. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in immediate rejection.

6. SUBMISSION CHECKLIST

Before submission, authors should confirm that:

  • The manuscript includes a complete title page with author details.

  • The abstract and keywords follow the specified format.

  • All required sections are presented in the correct order.

  • References total at least 25 and follow APA 7th Edition.

  • Tables, figures, and captions are formatted correctly and embedded in the text.

  • Ethical and funding declarations are included.

  • The manuscript has been professionally edited for language quality.

  • All authors have reviewed and approved the submission.

7. COPYRIGHT AND PUBLICATION AGREEMENT

Authors retain full copyright over their work but grant the journal the right of first publication under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Authors may reuse and distribute their published work in non-exclusive contexts, provided that appropriate citation is given to the journal version.

Authors warrant that their submission is original, not previously published, and that all permissions have been obtained for copyrighted materials. They must also confirm that all listed authors meet authorship criteria and that no conflict of interest exists.

After publication, authors may archive preprint, accepted, or published versions in institutional or personal repositories, provided that proper attribution is included.

8. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review. Authors are expected to submit revisions within 30 days for minor changes or 60 days for major ones. The International Journal of Educational Research does not charge article processing fees (APC).

All published articles will display the CC BY-SA 4.0 license badge to indicate open-access status.
