Abstract

This study was motivated by the low reading abilities of students and the lack of engaging instructional media, which led to boredom during learning activities. The research aimed to explore the use of literacy tree media in enhancing the reading skills of third-grade students at SD Inpres Dhereisa. A qualitative research approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results showed that 83.33% of students achieved fluent reading skills, while 16.66% still encountered difficulties. The literacy tree media played a positive role in stimulating students' interest in reading and improving their reading abilities. However, challenges included limited book collections and insufficient participation from the entire school community. While the literacy tree media proved to be effective, it was not fully optimized. Therefore, further development of this media is recommended to enhance its effectiveness in supporting students’ reading skill improvement.
